Phimosis: circumcision

Circumcision is the surgical removal of the foreskin of the penis.

I perform this operation as a day surgery:
- It is about 45 minutes
- The shaving of the pubic hair is necessary
- No fasting is needed
- Recommendation on discharge: icing for 12 hours
- Medical treatment twice a day as indicated
- Rest for 12 hours
- Return to work: after 24 hours
- Weekly control until stitches fall out (2-3 weeks)
- Resume of sexual activity after 4 weeks

Varicocele: ligation of the spermatic venous vessels with microsurgery

Varicocele is a dilation of the venous vessels of the scrotum.
I perform this operation as a day surgery:
- Average operation time is 20 minutes

- The shaving of the pubic hair is necessary
- Fasting from midnight of the day before
- Antibiotic and analgesics are needed at discharge
- Rest for 3-4 days in order to avoid complications as hydrocele
- Return to work after 4-7 days and resume of sport activity after 4 weeks
- Removal of stitches after 7 days

Hydrocele: vaginal eversion

A hydrocele is the accumulation of serous fluid between the two layers of the tunica vaginalis, that is between the parietal and visceral layers of the tunica vaginalis (which envelopes the testicle and epididymis), and along the spermatic cord.

I perform this operation as a day surgery:
- Average operation time is 30 minutes
- The shaving of the pubic hair is necessary
- Fasting from midnight of the day before
- Antibiotic and analgesics are needed at discharge
- I remove drainage after 24 hours
- Rest for 3-4 days
- Return to work after 4-7 days and resume of sport activity after 4 weeks

Short frenulum: frenulectomy and frenuloplasty

I perform this operation as a day surgery:
- Average operation time is 15 minutes No fast is needed
- Recommendation on discharge: icing for 12 hours
- Medical treatment twice a day as indicated
- Rest for 12 hours
- Return to work after 24 hrs
- Weekly control until stitches fall out (2 weeks)
- Resume of sexual activity after 2-3 weeks
