AquaBeam is a robotic system that uses water jet for the aquablation of the prostate. Cystoscopy and ultrasound images are integrated to guide the robotic operation. AquaBeam allows controlled resection of the prostate with a highspeed heated flow of saline solution. With this it is possible to preserve the ejaculation zone.
The procedure takes 1-5 minutes depending on the volume of the prostate. Following the operation a particular catheter is positioned for the management of bleeding, which is removed after 48 hours. Then the patient can be discharged.
The procedure requires general anaesthesia to make sure that patient is still during the procedure.
